Martial artist stops attempted break-in
Helpful note to thugs: If you absolutely must be a scum bag, try to pick your victims more carefully.
A second-degree black belt and martial arts instructor stopped a man who was trying to enter his home through a window he had broken with a chair.
The black belt occupant responded to the noise carrying two weapons. But according to police reports, neither was used. The martial artist just struck the suspect in the back, and the suspect went down and stayed down.
“In essence, he gift wrapped this case for us. He did a great job,” Lt. Keith Kameg told Gainesville.com.
The martial artist, a graduate student in the area, has a history of fighting bad guys. He told the news outlet that he once fought off muggers when he worked pizza delivery.
